Cake, coffee and a good conversation behind the walls — and aftercare on the way out.

For many years Maritastiftelsen has met inmates with love and hope for the future. One or two staff and 5–6 volunteers go into the prisons with cake and coffee, hoping for a good conversation.

We regularly visit the five prisons in the Oslo area, as well as Ravneberget, Halden, Eidsberg, Kroksrud, Trøgstad, Gjøvik and Bastøy. Gatherings begin socially and end with songs, Bible teaching and shared life stories.

We offer work training and aftercare on the way out of prison, and — together with NAV — support on the road back to a life without crime and drugs.
